Jian Zhao is with the School of Electronic Science and Engineering at Nanjing University. 

Prof. Zhao received the B.Sc. degree from Nanjing University in 2001, the M.Sc. degree from the Hamburg University of Technology in 2004 (advisor Prof. Hermann Rohling), and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich in 2010 (advisor Prof. Armin Wittneben). From 2010 to 2015, he was with the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Nanjing University. His research interests include deep neural networks, mathematical optimization, and wireless communications. 

Prof. Zhao was honored with the Dengfeng Scholars Program of Nanjing University in 2015, the 2009 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, and the IEEE Globecom 2008 Best Paper Award. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
